Synergy Over Spending
A content proposal to grow organic interaction for Spell Market, a future Magic: The Gathering website
Spell Market is a future website for the Magic: The Gathering community. Before it launches, the goal is to build an audience that talks back, not one that only scrolls past. To test the idea, I created a pilot reel around the most talked-about commander of The Hobbit: a budget infinite combo with Thranduil, the Elvenking that ends with one comment keyword, made to earn organic interaction in the niche.

THE PILOT
One commander, four cheap pieces
Thranduil has the activated abilities of every Elf in your graveyard. The pilot shows how four inexpensive Elves combine into infinite counters and infinite mana, closing with the idea behind the whole proposal for Spell Market: you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars to win, you need synergy.

TAKEAWAY
Conclusion
For Spell Market, organic interaction has to come from content that is genuinely useful to players. In a niche like Magic, attention follows the release calendar and the players’ wallets, so tying the pilot to the most popular commander of The Hobbit, and to a combo anyone can afford, gave the audience a reason to stop scrolling and a reason to answer.
The result, 158 comments on 581 likes, supports the proposal: one current commander, one budget idea and one keyword that opens a direct conversation. Repeated as a series, this format can build Spell Market’s community before the website launches, so it opens with players who already talk to the brand.
